Dr. Muhammad Zafar is working as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Energy &
Environmental Engineering (IEEE), University of the Punjab since February 2019. He did his
B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from NFC Institute of Engineering & Technological Training
Multan in 2007. He simultaneously joined Steel Alloys Pvt. Ltd. as a Trainee Engineer where he
got experience related to project management and quality control. During this job he enrolled
himself in the M.Sc. Chemical Engineering Program at the Institute of Chemical Engineering
&Technology;, University of the Punjab and successfully completed his degree in 2010. He got
3rdposition in the M.Sc. Chemical engineering and published 2 SCI IF papers in international
journal of Desalination related to synthesis of polymeric membranes and separation processes.
Then he changed his job and joined Tufail Chemical Industries in 2010 as a R&D;officer. He
worked in this company for few years and then garbed opportunity abroad in 2012 and started
working as an Assistant Manager R&D;in Workwear Lanka Pvt. Ltd. Sri Lanka. He acquired
exceptional experience related to product development, enterprise resource planning and business
development. In this company he registered 2 (invention disclosure form) IDFs which were later
to be patented and developed Universal Grip Technology (UGT), a special polymer formulation
to grip all types of wet and dry surfaces. Then he got interested in pursuing PhD studies from
foreign and joined Chonnam National University, South Korea. He completed his PhD in
Advanced Chemical & Engineering in 2018. His Area of research was in solar cells, water splitting,
sensors, mathematical modeling of thin films and combustion studies. After joining IEEE in 2019
he got further interested in combustion studies of coal and biomass. He’s currently supervising
thesis of various undergraduate and M.Phil./M.Sc. (Engg.) students related to topics of reaction
kinetics study of combustion systems, burner design for solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and many
more projects involving combustion studies. Dr.Zafar has currently 14 International research
publications in diversified fields of Chemical Engineering bearing total impact factor of 35+. |
