Dr. Javeed Ashraf Awan is currently working at Ministry of Planning Development and Special Initiatives (MoPD&SI) Government of Pakistan, Islamabad to trigger the unexplored and vibrant area of Mineral and Mines of this country towards its growth and national GDP contribution. Dr. Awan is also holding the position of full Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of the Punjab, Lahore since 2023. He has been working as postdoctoral researcher for 3 years at Center for Energy Resource Engineering, Technical University of Denmark on different energy related projects funded by Danish Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation (2010-2012). In 2009, He has completed his PhD Energy and Process Engineering (Chemical Engineering) from “Ecole Nationale Superieur Des Mines De Paris” known as (Mines ParisTech PSL -France). During his PhD he has been working on a funded project by Gas Processors Association-USA in collaboration with HEC Pakistan and ARMINES France. He has published his research work in international/national peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Awan has expertise in Mineral Sector Development Strategies, Metrology, thermodynamics, Thermophysical properties, safe lab practices under cryogenic conditions to high pressure, solubilities, densities, viscosities, thermal conductivities, freezing point depression (FPD), chemical equilibria, physical equilibria at HTHP and advance characterization techniques. Chemical Process and Plant design, Aspen-Hysys, PROSim.
Currently, he is working on Industrial funded projects related to CO2 capture, Energy storage, Biofuels, Bioplastics, Energy Conservation & Environmental Management Systems, Thermodynamic Modeling (CPA-EoS, Electrolyte-UNIQUAC, GCA-EoS) for reactive and non-reactive systems.
He has supervised 03 PhD and 34 MSc researchers in the field of Energy and Process Engineering.
