PU VC Dr Kamran calls on LHC Chief Justice Lahore: (Monday, December 20, 2010): Vice-Chancellor Punjab University Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran paid a courtesy call on Chief Justice Lahore High Court Mr. Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry in his office here today and congratulated him on his appointment as Chief Justice Lahore High Court. He was accompanied by Dean PU Faculty of Law Prof Dr Muhammad Ehsan Malik, Incharge Principal PU Law College Mr. Samee Ozair and other senior staff and teachers. During the meeting which lasted over half an hour, Dr Kamran briefed the Honourable Chief Justice about the ongoing academic and research activities as well as infrastructure development being made at the varsity campus. He said that currently over 30 thousand male and female including foreign students are studying in the Punjab University which is popularly known as poor man’s varsity because students belonging to low income families from all the four provinces prefer to seek admission in the country’s oldest and largest seat of higher learning where the percentage of female students is presently 63 percent of the total student population.
