PU Library organizes introductory talk on books


LAHORE: (Friday, January 17, 2025): Punjab University Library Book Club organized introductory talk on two books including ‘Mass: the quest to understand matter from Greek atoms to quantum fields’ by Jim Baggott and the Urdu novel titled ‘Margah Doaam’ by Sadiq Alam. On this occasion, Chief Librarian Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani, Associate Professor from Centre for High Energy Physics Dr Faisal Akram, Institute of Urdu Language and Literature Assistant Professor Dr Zaheer Abbas, faculty members and students were present. Dr Faisal Akram delivered a thought-provoking talk on English book and explored the connection between quantum field theory, physics, and the fundamental role of mass in the functioning of nature. Dr Zaheer Abbas highlighted how literature enables writers to transcend the boundaries of time, taking readers on journeys across different eras seamlessly. Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani expressed his gratitude to the speakers and audience for their unwavering support of the Book Club. He said that PU library will continue to play its role for the promotion of book reading.
