The College of Earth and Environmental Sciences has participated in an event organized by the Chief Minister's Youth Mobilization Committee (CMYMC) with Minister for Education Punjab, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan as its Chairperson. This participation of the College was as an active partner of the MoU signed between the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES), University of the Punjab, CMYMC, Government of the Punjab and the Sechuan South Gas Compressor Company, China.

The event was the International Young Leaders' Conference, 2014 with about 400 International and national participants from different educational institutions and organizations around the world. The Principal, Professor Dr. Firdaus-e-Bareen, participated along with faculty members and participating students. The Environmental segment of the program was presented by the CEES, on behalf of the University of the Punjab. Professor Dr. Firdaus-e-Bareen delivered a speech on Current Challenges on Environment in Pakistan, followed by student's speeches, skits, documentaries and poetry. The Chief Guest Rana Mushhood Ahmad Khan presented awards to the Professor Dr. Firdaus-e-Bareen for outstanding research and to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nawaz Chaudhry for his longstanding career in the field of Environmental Sciences.

The Principal thanked the Chairperson CMYMC and the Chief Executive Officer of CMYMC, Mr. Suhail Amir for providing the College an opportunity to present the segment on Environment on behalf of CMYMC. In the end Mr. Rana Mushhood Ahmad Khan also presented the papers of a biogas plant donated to the CEES for research by the Sechuan South Gas Compressor Company, China.

Mr. Suhail Amir, CEO CMYMC, presented shields to the organizing committee of CEES' faculty comprising of Dr. Muhammad Shafiq, Ms. Mariyam Zameer, Ms. Maham Tabassum, Mr. Azhar Ali and Mr. Mujtaba Baqir.
