LAHORE: (Tuesday, June 07, 2011): Punjab University College of Art & Design (PUCAD) organized a seminar in the Senate Hall of Allama Iqbal (Old) Campus to acknowledge the contributions and services of Prof Anna Molka Ahmad, founder, Educationist, Painter, Sculptor, Teacher, Poet and former Chairperson of the College of Art & Design. College Principal Prof Dr Rahat Naveed Masud presided over the seminar. Jamila Zaidi, ex-student of the College was the chief guest while Tahira Ayaz and Zara David (daughters of Anna Molka) were the special guests on the occasion.

Renowned artists, art critics and writers including Saeed Akhtar, Ayaz Mahmood, Dr Nadhra Shahbaz and Tasneem Mazhar were also present on the occasion. Speakers including Prof Dr Mussarat Hassan, Prof Dr Shaukat Mahmood (Maxim), Javed Iqbal (Famous Cartoonist), Shahnawaz Zaidi, Zafarullah, Maliha Azami Aga, Shahnaz Malhi, Ghulam Mustafa, Masood Abbas, Quddus Mirza, Dr Shahida Manzoor and Shazia Mukhtar also shared their memories about Prof Anna Molka Ahmad. They highlighted various aspects of the contribution of Anna Molka and their personal feelings.

Jamila Zaidi eloquently analyzed the contribution of Anna Molka and much appreciated the efforts put in by the Anna Molka Ahmad for Art & Pakistan. Tahira Ayaz and Zara David talked about different aspects of her personal life. Shahnawaz Zaidi also narrated the poetry of Ahmad which was really appreciated by the audience.

The participants paid glowing tribute to Prof Anna Molka Ahmad and appreciated the efforts of the Principal Prof Dr Rahat Naveed Masud especially and to the College in general for holding this unique and special event.

In the end, Prof Dr Rahat Naveed Masud thanked the guests and audience for their participation and appreciated the efforts of all members of the Event Management Committee.
