Dr. Sidra Irfan

Dr. Sidra Irfan is working as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS), University of the Punjab. She completed her PhD in Management from Business School of University of Edinburgh in 2015. Her doctoral research focused on understanding inter-organisational relationships in public-private partnerships in the education sector of Pakistan. She started her professional career working as an Assistant Registrar at IAS after completing her MPA degree in 2002. She was the first female Assistant Registrar in University of the Punjab setting example for other females to reject stereotypes and pursue their chosen careers. She was handpicked out of hundreds of University of the Punjab teaching staff (including much senior professors) to represent the University in China, as a result of which a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Beijing University of Chemical Technology. During her PhD studies she worked as a teaching and research assistant at The University of Edinburgh. As an appreciation of her good teaching, she was nominated consecutively for two years for a teaching award by Edinburgh University Students’ Association (EUSA). She is an active academic and has presented her work at some of the prestigious conferences in the field of management.
