Dr. Saima Ghazal specializes in behavioral decision research and psychology (e.g., psychometrics, risk literacy, predictive modeling). She completed her Ph.D. in Applied Cognitive Science and Human Factors (ACSHF) with emphasis in decision making at Michigan Technological University, USA, and completed her post-doctoral fellowship from The University of Oklahoma, USA. She is HEC approved Ph.D. Supervisor, too.
She is a decision scientist, with expertise in psychometric, so her research focuses on developing theoretically grounded, adaptive, assessment tools and technologies and decision aids that help people make more informed decisions. Her research also focuses on Individual differences in numeracy and cognitive abilities in decision making, with applications for business, human resources, and consumer protection. Dr. Ghazal’s teaching focus has been in Organizational Psychology, Testing and Assessment (psychometrics), Statistics and quantitative research. She is a lead programmer and executive member for the RiskLiteracy.org – an International collaborative project USA (2012-current). Dr. Ghazal has many awards on her credit including Dean’s award for Outstanding Graduate scholarship (Michigan Tech top1%), Incentive, performance and research awards (by the vice chancellor, Punjab university). Dr. Ghazal is directing her LeaDE (Leadership and Decision Engineering) lab at the institute of Applied psychology, where the goal is to produce high-quality research in the domain of leadership science and decision-making, and foster industry-academia linkage.
LeaDE Lab
Leadership and Decision Engineering (LeaDE) is a research lab. under the direction and vision of Dr. Saima Ghazal (PhD, Michigan Tech. USA) at the Institute of Applied Psychology, University of the Punjab. The goals of this lab include conducting a high-quality research in the domain of leadership science and decision making; fostering the industry-academia linkage; and student development. In this lab., we aim to build a grounded theory of leadership that better suits and serves the Pakistani organization; integrate behavioural science to informed and improved decision making; and produce the human resource equipped with the skills, tools and techniques that the industry needs the most.
