SAD DEMISE OF A VISIONARY LEADER, RENOWNED SCIENTIST, AND DEDICATED TEACHER


LAHORE: (Monday, August 12, 2024): With profound sadness and heavy heart, the fraternity and staff of CEMB & CAMB, University of the Punjab, announce the passing of a legendary figure in the field of life sciences and molecular biology, Prof. Dr. Sheikh Riazuddin.

Prof. Riazuddin was a visionary leader, renowned scientist, and dedicated teacher, he leaves behind a legacy of excellence and inspiration.

As the founding director of the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology and Centre for Applied Molecular Biology at the University of the Punjab, he pioneered groundbreaking research and nurtured generations of scientists. His unwavering commitment to scientific integrity, innovative vision, and passion for mentoring have had a lasting impact on our scientific community.

He was a teacher of many teachers, and his influence extends far beyond the institutions he served. His contributions to the field of molecular biology are immeasurable, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.

May Allah Almighty bless him with the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous. May his family and loved ones find strength and comfort in this difficult time.

Funeral prayers will be held tomorrow (Tuesday, 13-8-2024) at 1:15 pm at Jamia Mosque, P-Block, Model Town Extension, near his home and later at 2:00 pm in the lawn of CEMB, 87 West Canal Bank Road, Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore.
