Memorializing of the Qaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah


Centre for Coal Technology organized a program in the memory of the creator of Pakistan, Qaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on December, 25 2012. Director Centre for Coal Technology Prof Dr Shahid Munir presided over of the Iqbal seminar. The respected faculty members Prof Dr Shafqat Nawaz, Dr Javaid Akhtar, Mr. Khurram Shahzad, Miss Sumaira Kanawal, Mr Muhammad Khurram Shahzad, and students from the centre attended the program. An eminent scholar of Pakistan movement, Prof Iftikhar Tariq Rathore honored the program with his presence and participated as chief guest. The centre was decorated with quotes and speeches of the Qaid-e-Azam.
 
 
The Speeches were delivered by Prof Dr Shahid Munir and Prof Dr Iftikhar Tariq Rathore. Prof Dr Shahid Munir lauded the Qaid personality as a “Qaid Ek Juhud e Musalsal” and his continued efforts from childhood to a world renowned leader of Muslims of India. He threw light upon his journey from a barrister to Qaid-e-Azam. He was lauded as a practitioner of vision of Allama Muhammad Iqbal to create an ideological country without fighting a war. The popular quote of an American scholar was endorsed that “Few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly any one can be credited with creating a nation-state. Muhammad Ali Jinnah did all.” Qaid's vision was appreciated all over the Muslim world. Prof Dr Iftikhar Tariq discussed the life of Qaid-e-Azam and his struggles during and after completion of barrister at Law from Lincoln University. In spite of many challenges and economic difficulties, Qaid-e-Azam did not compromise on his mission. He worked day and night to achieve the goals. His aspirations kept him motivated to become a popular states man. He gathered the Muslims of India into a one unit that was a prime force for creation of the biggest Muslim state on the map. He was lauded as a man of principals, who never comprised on honesty, self respect, and dignity of Muslims in India. He devoted his life, health, and wealth for the betterment of Pakistan and to uplift the economic conditions of people of new country. Prof Dr Shafqat Nawaz narrated briefly his childhood experiences during partition time and scarifies of the Mahajreen on the way to Pakistan.
 
 
A quiz and debate competition was conducted among students of first and third semester. Aroosa Qayyum stood first in the debate competition, followed by Sadia Anwar and Zahid Gulam Rasool were declared second and third respectively. The team of the students of the third semester was declared winner of the quiz competition. The topic of debate competition was “Qaid Ek Juhud e Musalsal” . The speeches were very competitive and appreciating. Winners of the debating and quiz competition were awarded books titled Taqseem e hind and Awaz e dast . At the end of the program, Director CCT presented vote of thanks to honorable guests and to the contributions of students in arranging the program. Director also lauded Vice Chancellor's vision to celebrate the national days and encouraged the University to keep the spirit of remembering the heroes. At the end of program, the special Kashmiri tea with biscuits was served to the honorable guests and students of the centre.
