PU workshop on honeybee keeping


LAHORE: (Friday, March 21, 2014): Punjab University Department of Zoology’s Honeybee Research Program has organized National Beekeeping Training Workshop in which more than 60 persons from both federal and provincial organizations participated. The concluding session was attended by PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran, Chairman Zoology Department Prof Dr Muhammad Akhter, Incharge Honeybee Research Program Dr Nasreen Muzafar and faculty members were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the concluding session, PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran lauded workshop organizer Dr Nasreen Muzafar and said that such workshops helped promote research culture. Dr Akhter said that the workshop was aimed at creating more employment and business opportunities and improve livelihood through knowledge based partnership. Dr Nasreen Muzzafar said that the workshop would provide an excellent orientation for starting beekeeping as a hobby and a profitable enterprise as well as help in the diversification of farm production system through cross-pollination. Later, certificates were distributed among the participants.
