PU did not allow convention: spokesman LAHORE: (Friday, October 20, 2017): The Punjab University spokesman has clarified a news item published in various sections of press, stating that Punjab University has not allowed any political organization to host its annual convention on campus. In a press statement, PU spokesman Khuram Shahzad said that on July 17, 2017, PU registrar had written a letter to Maj Khalid Hussain, Security Officer to President of Pakistan submitting that permission has not been sought from PU administration for any such program. He said that the university had also informed the official concerned that Tanzeem-e-Asaztza was a sub-organization of a political party (Jamaat-e-Islami teacher wing) and invitation sent to him may please be considered unofficial.
