PU organizes seminar on infrastructure development and environment conservation in Pakistan


LAHORE: (Thursday, September 22, 2016): A Chinese delegation of experts on environmental and social issues in infrastructure development visited the Punjab University National Center for Resettlement and Rehabilitation (NCRR). The delegation included Dr. Ren Jingming, Mr. Guo Ermin and Dr. Zhu Yuan from Appraisal Center for Environment and Engineering (ACEE) and Dr. Jiang Yuan from Beijing Normal University, China. In this context, a seminar was organized at the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies to discuss the “Infrastructure Development and Environmental Conservation”.

The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Muhammad Zakria Zakar, Director and Dean Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences. The Chinese delegates reflected their expert opinion on the socio-environmental challenges in the context of different projects being initiated in Pakistan in cooperation with China. Mr. Irfan Ul Haq and Mr. Imran Ul Haq, represented the NESPAK, and delivered their experts talks on social and environmental aspects of development projects. The representatives of academia, WAPDA, NTDC and various national organizations working in the relevant area in Pakistan were also present.
