Pakistan should not get back on Kasmir Issue: Speakers LAHORE: (Wednesday, February 27, 2013): Pakistan should not get back from its principal trance on Kashmir Issue as Kashmir was an integral part of our country. Kashmir was our jugular vein and no one can live without it. These views were expressed by the speakers at a conference presided over by the Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran. The conference titled “Kashmir: the Story of Struggle” organized by PU Department of Political Science and Centre for South Asian Studies here on Wednesday at Al-Raazi Hall. Former Foreign Secretary Pakistan Shamshad Ahmad Khan, Former Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood and Kashmiri Leader (Occupied Kashmir) Muhammad Yaseen Malik and Chairperson Department of Political Science & Director CSAS Prof Dr Umbreen Javed also spoke on the occasion. Yasin Malik said that the struggle of Kashmiri people could not be suppressed by power. He said that Kashmir would get independence and Pakistani youth should come forward to raise voice in favour of innocent Kashmiris. He said that we support peaceful dialogue and constitunal struggle for independence of Kashmir. He said that Kashmiris must be given representation in dialogue between Pakistan and India to resolve Kashmir issue. He urged Pakistani rulers to take notice of the issue that one Kashmiri was taken to the gallows and thirty two Kashmiris were sentenced to life during its past three years dialogue period with India. He urged the Pakistani rulers, journalists, analysts, youth and others to join hand for freedom of Kashmir from Indian occupation. Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran said that sense of honour was a must for respectable survivor in the world. He said that Pakistani and kashmiri had similar emotions. He said that our luxurious life was useless until Indian tyranny on Kashmiri people came to an end. He said that when Pakistani rulers would leave splendid bungalows shun corruption Pakistan would become a develop country. He said that the people being killed in Kashmir had brilliant minds. He stressed the students to adopt reading habit so that they could understand Kashmiri issue. Barrister Sultan Mehmood expressed his gratitude the PU VC for creating awareness among students regarding Kashmir issue by organizing conference. He said that resolution of Afghan issue was not possible without resolving the issue of Kashmir. He appealed to the international community to realize India regarding sensitivity of the Kashmir issue. He urged all the political parties of Pakistan to adopt a common stance on Kashmir because strengthened Pakistan was a guarantee to independence of Kashmiri people. Shamshad Ahmed said that some opportunist were responsible for creating doubts on Kashmir issue. He told the students our jugular vein was in the hand of our enemies and they must make effort for its freedom. He urged the youth to play their role for prevention of Indian violence in Kashmir. Dr Umbreen Javed said that today was a historic day for PU because the real heroes of Kashmir’s struggle were with us.
