“Suno Pyari Beti” launched


LAHORE: (Tuesday, February 26, 2013): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran on Tuesday presided over a book launching ceremony of “Suno Pyari Beti” by Razina Alam Khan held at Al-Raazi Hall of Undergraduate Study Centre. Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Mariam Nawaz was the chief guest while Senator Razina Khan, renowned journalist Arifa Subah Khan, renowned columnist Sofia Bedar, senior faculty members and a large number of students were also present on the occasion.

Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran in his address said that it was necessary to adopt reading habit to promote education in this regard the students should have to gain knowledge for all aspects of life so that it was important addition for their mental growth. He said that an attractive person had abilities of lively heart, good nature and honesty in himself. He congratulated the author to highlight the women’s issues in the book.

Mariam Nawaz Sharif said that women were respectable in any character and no country could progress without their promotion. She said that the men should have fully support their women to get stronger and develop self confidence in themselves. She said that parents could not architect the fate of their children but education. She said that to educate a woman is to educate the whole society. She said that it was essential to take care of women’s education so society could be prospering and it would be fruitful for the country. Razina Alam Khan said that a woman had to do her work freely. She said that our holy Prophet (PBUH) had a great respect for the women and we should have also followed His teachings. She thanked Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran to organize such a wonderful event. Arifa Subah Khan said that a virtual woman is most profitable creation of Allah. She said that there was lack of self confidence and self independence in our women and this book regret these kinds of emotions. Sofia Bedar said in sub-continent women presented as show piece but this book highlighted eastern tradition. She said today’s women wanted to show their abilities and work with shoulder to shoulder the men.
