Requirement

1. Eligibility Conditions for appointment of the above faculty excluding Engineering, Information Technology, Computing Sciences, Law and Arts & Design (Studio Practice):

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D from the HEC recognized Institution in the relevant field.

Experience
15-years teaching/research experience  in HEC recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or Professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.
OR
10 years Post-Ph.D teaching/research experience in a recognized University or a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a national or International organization.

Minimum Number of Publications
The applicant must have 15 research publications (with at least 5 publications in the last 5 years) in the HEC recognized journals.

2. Eligibility conditions for appointment of faculty in Engineering, Information Technology, and Computing disciplines:-

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D Degree in the relevant field from an Institution recognized by the HEC in consultation with PEC.

Experience
12 years teaching/research experience in a recognized Institution/College/University or 12 years professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization out of which 5 years must be teaching experience.

Minimum Number of Publications
12 research publications (with at least 3 publications in last five year) in HEC/PEC recognized Journals.

3. Eligibility Conditions for appointment of faculty in ARTS & DESIGN (STUDIO PRACTICE) disciplines:-

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D from HEC recognized Institution in the relevant field.
OR
Master’s (Foreign) or M.Phil or equivalent degree in the relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution.

Experience
15 years teaching/ research experience in HEC recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.  
OR
10 years Post-Ph.D teaching/research experience in a recognized University or  a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.
17  years teaching/ research experience (with at least  8 years experience after Master’s (foreign) or M.Phil or equivalent degree in HEC recognized University or a post-graduate  Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.

Minimum Number of Publications
Outstanding and substantial level of professional art activity and a national or international contribution to the development of Art and Design in general.  (Demonstrated by at least 8 exhibitions at national or international level with two or more than two new works in each exhibition or evidence of equal number of visual communication campaigns designed and published or equivalent work in any other discipline of Arts and Design as specified in the research criteria.
Outstanding and substantial level of professional art activity and a national or international contribution to the development of Arts and Design in general. (Demonstrated by at least 8 exhibitions at national or international level with two or more than two new works in each exhibition or evidence of equal number of visual communication campaigns designed and published or equivalent work in any other discipline of Art and Design as specified in the  criteria).

STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS UNDER TENURE TRACK SYSTEM

PROFESSOR
_ Qualification: PhD Degree/ Terminal Qualification in the relevant field (from an HEC recognized Institution).
_ Experience: 11-years Post-PhD or minimum of 7-years of post-PhD experience along with at least  12 years of experience prior to the PhD. (The experience to be counted is to be of teaching/research in a recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization)
_ Publications: 15 research publications (with at least 5 publications in the past 5 years) in Journals recognized for the purpose of appointment on Tenure Track by the Higher Education Commission, i.e. research papers published in Journals that fall under the category W, X and Y for Social Sciences while for Science disciplines papers published in only W category (Impact Factor) Journals.
_ As a general rule, the length of service in the rank of Associate Professor before being considered for promotion to full Professor is five years. Recommendations for promotion in less time should be carefully weighed and justified by the administrative officer making the recommendation.

Criteria

•    Ph.D. degree holder will not be considered for Assistant Professor under BPS system, whereas in service Punjab University Ph.D. teachers may apply on BPS.
•    The candidates with 3rd Division in the academic career shall not be eligible for appointment as Lecturer but if the applicant holds a higher degree viz  M.Phil/Ph.D or equivalent degree with only one 3rd Division in the entire academic career is eligible.
•    The candidates applying for the posts of Professor/Associate Professor Under BPS/TTS System should submit six copies of applications alongwith six complete sets of testimonials/ research work/publications/photograph (1x1)/certificate of any distinction etc., on the relevant prescribed form.
•    The candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Professor/Lecturer Under BPS are required to submit one copy of application and for the post of Assistant Professor Under TTS are required to submit three copies of the applications on the relevant prescribed form alongwith attested copies of degrees/certificates/testimonials/ photograph (1x1)/ certificate of any distinction etc.
•    Candidates applying the posts of Professor/Associate Professor under BPS/TTS are required to submit a crossed postal order/bank draft of Rs.3000/-. The candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Professor/Lecturer under BPS/TTS are however, required to submit a crossed postal order/bank draft of Rs.1500/- (The postal order/bank draft should be drawn in favour of the Treasurer, University of the Punjab, Lahore).

•    Candidates applying under both the systems should submit separate applications along with complete documents together with required postal order for each application.
•    Candidates already in service should apply through proper channel by due date and submit service certificates issued by their present and former employers, otherwise, their applications will not be entertained. Incomplete applications (in any case) or those received after due date shall also not be entertained.
•    The candidates applying for all the posts should attach a separate list of attached documents with signature.
•    The candidates applying for all the posts must mention the date of Notification/Result and time period of the degree in the relevant column of prescribed form.
•    In case of Assistant Professor/Lecturer only short listed candidates will be called for interview.
•    The University reserves the rights not to fill/withdraw any post/withhold the appointment against any advertised post without assigning any reason.
•    The applications (complete in all respect) should reach in the office of the Registrar (Human Resource Branch, Admin Block, Room No.19), University of the Punjab (Quaid-i-Azam Campus), Lahore.
