The department of the Pharmacy was upgraded to the level of Faculty by the University authorities in 1979. The departments was divided into four section, namely:  

Pharmaceutics

Pharmacology
Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Pharmacognosy.  
 
   With the shifting of the institute of chemistry and institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology to New Campus, the Faculty expanded manifold by having more laboratories lecture theaters, space for library and extra-curricular activities. The efficiency of the department increased significantly with respect to the teaching / training programs. The salient feature of this progress is the updating of curricula and other facilities to prepare graduates to meet the challenges / latest trends in the Pharmacy profession.
