I.
Online Form is available at http://admissions.pu.edu.pk , http://111.68.103.22/admissions w.e.f.10-08-2026. The candidate will submit his/her online form along with scanned copies of academic certificates and receipt of paid challan (Rs.2050/-) up to 24-08-2026 (11:59 p.m.)
II.
No third division in whole career.
III.
Written Test of Ph.D. Program will be held at the Punjab University Law College, Quaid-e-Azam Campus.  Interviews will be held at the University Law College.

Eligibility:
Eligibility criteria for a relevant field/discipline (in accordance with the department’s policy) will be provided by the relevant Board of Studies/DDPC of University college Law, and the same is also attached with the advertisement.
For PhD:
Category A
I.
L.L.M. or equivalent degree with minimum CGPA of 3.00 (out of 4.00) in the semester system or first division (60%) in the annual system as per HEC and PU rules.
II.
No third division in the whole career.
III.
Candidates without thesis in LL.M/equivalent are eligible to apply but they shall complete deficiency of 06 credit hours research thesis.
IV.
Qualifying marks in the admission test conducted by the University are 60%. For Test pattern and details of breakup of 60% (see instructions)
V.
Qualifying marks in the interview are 50%.
Category B
I.
L.L.M equivalent degree with minimum CGPA less than 3.00 (out of 4.0) in the semester system or first division (60%) in the annual system as per HEC and PU rules.
II.
No third division in the whole career.
III.
Qualifying marks in the admission test conducted by the University are 60%. For Test pattern and details/break up of 60% (see instructions)
IV.
Qualifying marks in the interview are 50%.
V.
Additional courses of 9-12 CH of level 7 in zero semester and score minimum 3.00 out of 4.00 GPA. (If the applicant does not fulfil both conditions the admission will stand canceled)
VI.
Candidates without a thesis in LL.M/equivalent are eligible to apply but they shall complete a deficiency of 06 credit hours research thesis.
Admission test Pattern
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADMISSION TEST PATTERN FOR PhD:
i.
The test for Ph. D.  will be in two-part, Part A and Part B
a)
Part A: GRE/HAT general type (Annexure I-guidelines for Content Weightages of English/Verbal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning) and it is mandatory to score 60% marks in Part A and will be MCQ-based.
b)
Part B: Relevant subject-based test (It is up to departments/Institution/ Centre/ School/College to prepare this portion either subjective or objective MCQs based.
c)
It is also mandatory to score 60% cumulatively in the entry test.

CGPA on a scale other than 4:00 will be converted accordingly for MS/M.Phil/PhD or equivalent

Marks 40 are reserved for academic qualification  (the merit formula table is available at www.pu.edu.pk/dpcc  to be added to the merit.
The admission regulations of L.L.M and  Ph.D. can also be obtained from the University Law College.
The processing and examination fee, i.e., Rs. 2050/- must be deposited in the bank through the online Bank challan form generated during application submission. After the submission of the fee to the bank (HBL, UBL or  Mobile banking through 1Bill)  details must be entered in the application. Final application must be generated for completion of the online submission.
Application received (online) after due date and time will not be entertained in any case.
Equivalence from PU is required (Qualification/degree from Institutions other than the University of the Punjab, will be equalized by the Equivalence Committee of the University of the Punjab). Candidates must apply for equivalence well in time to the Equivalence Cell,PU and must provide the same before the interview.
Equivalence of Degrees Awarded by Chartered Foreign Universities will also be required from HEC Pakistan. PU equivalence is also required.
A candidate in the job should provide an NOC from his or her employer on the date of the interview; those who fail to submit will not be included in the merit list.
A foreign candidate should apply through his or her home country's embassy or consulate and Pakistan's mission abroad (in the case of Overseas Pakistanis). NOC and equivalence of degrees from HEC are required.
