LAHORE: (Friday, March 29, 2013): Thousands of people from all walks of life on Friday thronged Pakistan's largest book fair and over 60,000 books have been sold in just 2 days. People have thanked PU administration for ensuring provision of books on extra-ordinary discount and making best arrangements for visitors. Families are encouraged to visit the book fair today (Saturday). Senior journalists, poets, writers, foreigners, government officials, doctors, lawyers, students from different schools, colleges and universities, businessmen etc visited book fair on 2 nd day and got maximum benefit from upto 50 percent discount on books. Senior journalist Altaf Hassan Qureshi said that books fair was the best opportunity for students and it should be organized 6 times in a year.

Renowned journalist Sohail Warraich during his visit said that books were an asset without which no nation could progress. Ajmal Niazi said that books and dreams were the two things which made history of nations. Saleem Bukhari lauded the efforts of PU administration for organizing the fair and said that the activity would promote book reading culture in society. Renowned journalist Atta-ur-Rehman said that books cultivate civilization and create awareness among the nations. Sofia Baidar said that books attracted writers and we should adopt them as our culture. Malik Liaqat, Abid Tahami, Naveed Chaudhry, Zameer Afaqi and Khalid Farooqi also paid visit to the book fair. The visitors showed unusual interest in curricular and co-curricular books and lauded the arrangements made by the administration. Book fair will continue from 9am to 8pm today (Saturday).
