LAHORE: (Sunday, February 1, 2015): An awareness walk and seminar on 'Significance of Blood Donation for Society' were organized by Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) in collaboration with Sundas Foundation.

The seminar held at the auditorium of Institute of Social and Cultural Sciences Punjab university. Sundus Foundation Director Major (r) Tariq Maqbool, ICS Lecturer Ms Mehreen Mansoori, Mahmood Shafi and others addressed the students of Institute of Communication Studies and Sociology Department.

Sundus Foundation Director Major (r) Tariq Maqbool emphasized that the young generation should actively participate for the noble cause of blood donation while appreciating PU students, who he said, always took a lead in blood donation.

ICS Lecturer Mehreen Mansoori advised students to take best care of their health and donate blood to poor and needy patients. She said blood donors were saving hundreds of thousand lives in the world on daily basis and this was one of the best practices human being were rendering in service of humanity.

Earlier, an awareness walk held from ICS to sociology department to spread awareness on the cause of blood donation. The walk was led by ICS Adviser Student Affairs Assistant Prof Shabbir Sarwar, Dr Bushra Hameed, Fahad Mehmood and dozens of students participated in the walk. They participants were carrying banners and placard inscribed with various slogans.
