LAHORE: (Thursday, July 30, 2015): After solution of long-standing issue of NOC by Lahore Development Authority for Punjab University Housing Scheme Town II, possession letters of plots were distributed among employees and teachers in a joyous ceremony held at Faisal Auditorium on Thursday. Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Chairman Lahore Transport Company and Vice Chairman Lahore Development Authority Khawaja Ahmed Hassan, MPA and Member Syndicate Majid Zahur, renowned social worker Raja Munawar, President Academic Staff Association Prof Dr Hassan Mobeen Alam, Secretary ASA Dr Mahboob Hussain, President Land Management Committee Prof Dr Shahid Kamal, faculty members and a large number of employees were present on the occasion.

All the participants raised slogans in favor of PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran, Khawaja Ahmed Hassan and Raja Munawar and gave them a huge round of applause for resolving their issue. Addressing the ceremony, Dr Mujahid Kamran said that Raja Munawar made personal and sincere efforts to resolve various problems relating to the housing scheme. He said that Khawaja Ahmed Hassan conveyed the reservations of PU teachers against establishment of Orange Train Depot at PU Town 1 land and on his recommendation, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, who had instructed to resolve teachers’ problem, approved the alternate plan and saved PU teachers’ land. At that time, the vice chancellor said, we brought the issue of NoC of Town II to the notice of Khawaja Ahmed Hassan who promised the administration to resolve this problem as soon as possible and today’s ceremony was a result of Khawaja Ahmed Hassan’s efforts. Addressing the ceremony, Khawaja Ahmed Hassan said that Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif had always kept resolution of teachers’ problem on priority and the issue of Orange Train Depot was solved because of Mr Sharif’s special attention. He said that the Vice Chancellor had requested him for resolving the problems of Town II as well because he took care of the feelings of PU teachers and employees. Talking to media, renowned social worker Raja Munawar said that our efforts had brought fruit today and Allah had helped us a lot on various occasions. Later, possession letters of plots were distributed among various members of Town II.
