Punjab leaves others behind in fight against dengue: PU VC

LAHORE: (Tuesday, August 02, 2016): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has said that under the vibrant leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab has left others, who are more advance than us, behind in fight against dengue fever. He was talking to media outside Institute of Education and Research after leading anti-dengue awareness walk here on Tuesday.

The rally was taken out from Undergraduate Block in which PU Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, Additional Registrar Dr Kamran Abid, Resident Officer II Malik Muhammad Zaheer, Chairman PU Dengue Research Group Prof Dr Saeed Akhter, Vice President Academic Staff Association Prof Dr Abid Hussain Chaudhry, General Secretary Dr Mahboob Hussain, a large number of faculty members and employees from various departments participated. The participants of the rally were holding placards and banners creating awareness against dengue mosquito. Talking to media, Dr Mujahid Kamran said that PU had set up Dengue Research Group to curb the menace. He lauded the efforts of RO II Malik Muhammad Zaheer on taking preventive measures to control dengue fever on campus. He instructed all the heads of departments and others to take care of precautionary measures to avoid spread of dengue fever. He also distributed awareness pamphlets regarding dengue fever among the participants.
