PU, SVCCI China sign letter of intent

LAHORE: (Wednesday, May 20, 2026): Punjab University has signed a Letter of Intent with Sichuan Vocational College of Cultural Industries (SVCCI), China, to strengthen academic and research cooperation and promote international educational collaboration. In this regard a signing ceremony was held at Punjab University on Wednesday. On this occasion, Vice President of Sichuan Vocational College of Cultural Industries, China Mr. Chen Jinggui, Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof Dr Mehboob Hussain, Principal CAD Prof Dr Samina Nasim, Director External Linkages Prof Dr Yaamina Salman and others were present. The agreement aims to enhance mutual friendship, strengthen academic linkages, and promote cooperation between the two institutions on the principles of reciprocity, equality and mutual respect. Under the proposed collaboration, both institutions will explore opportunities for faculty and researcher exchanges, student mobility programs, organization of seminars, workshops and academic conferences, establishment of joint training bases, and promotion of scientific research cooperation. Both sides will also undertake mutually agreed academic and educational initiatives in the future. The LoI reflects the commitment of PU to expanding global academic partnerships and creating international opportunities for students and faculty members while promoting excellence in education and research. Both side representatives said that international collaborations are vital for knowledge exchange, academic development and strengthening educational ties between Pakistan and China. The partnership is expected to contribute significantly towards academic innovation and cultural understanding between the two institutions, they added.
