An international webinar was organized to commemorate the 22nd death anniversary of the eminent writer, poet, researcher, and distinguished Iqbal scholar, Jagan Nath Azad. The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Dean, Faculty of Oriental Learning, University of the Punjab, Lahore, and attracted scholars, students, and literary enthusiasts from Pakistan and several other countries.

Renowned researcher, poet, critic, and Iqbal scholar Prof. Dr. Taqi Abedi (Canada) delivered the keynote address on the life and literary contributions of Jagan Nath Azad. In his comprehensive lecture, he highlighted Azad's invaluable services to Urdu literature and Iqbal studies, describing him as one of the finest interpreters of Allama Iqbal's thought. Prof. Dr. Abedi paid a rich tribute to the late scholar, emphasizing the lasting significance of his research and literary legacy.

The webinar was further enriched by the participation of the two daughters of Jagan Nath Azad, who shared touching memories of their father, his scholarly dedication, literary pursuits, and personal values. Their heartfelt reflections added a unique and emotional dimension to the event.

In his presidential address, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran stated that the University of the Punjab is the alma mater of Jagan Nath Azad, and the University takes immense pride in his extraordinary achievements. He described Jagan Nath Azad as an encyclopedia of Urdu literature and an undisputed authority on Iqbal studies, whose scholarly contributions continue to inspire researchers across the world.

Prof. Dr. Kamran stressed the importance of introducing the younger generation to the intellectual heritage of great scholars like Jagan Nath Azad and reaffirmed the Faculty of Oriental Learning's commitment to promoting research in Urdu literature, Iqbal studies, and related disciplines through international academic collaboration.

The webinar was attended by a large number of academics, researchers, students, and literature lovers from Pakistan, Canada, Bangladesh, the Middle East, Europe, and other countries, reflecting the enduring international recognition of Jagan Nath Azad's scholarly and literary contributions.
