18 September 2026 — Under the auspices of Dr. Baseera Ambreen, Director, Institute of Urdu Language and Literature, a public defence of the PhD dissertation entitled “Anwar Sajjad: Life and Literary Services”, authored by Muhammad Deen, was held at the Institute of Urdu Language and Literature.

Muhammad Deen, under the supervision of Dr. Zahid Munir Aamir, presented his research on the life, personality, and literary contributions of Anwar Sajjad. He provided a comprehensive overview of his dissertation and responded to questions and observations raised by the external examiners and members of the audience.

The external examiners were Dr. Khalid Mahmood Sanjrani, Government College University, and Dr. Azmat Rubab, Lahore College for Women University. The examiners appreciated the scholarly effort and research undertaken by the researcher.
During the defence, Dr. Zahid Munir Aamir addressed the students and highlighted the importance of intellectual integrity, scholarly responsibility, and the restoration of Pakistan’s intellectual and academic prestige.
The defence was attended by a large number of faculty members, researchers, and students of the Institute.
