The Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS), University of the Punjab, Lahore organized its 1st Entrepreneurship Summit, “SITE 2015” as an academic project under the course of Entrepreneurship BS (hons) Management program Dr. Shahid A Zia-Adjunct Faculty Member & Course Instructor Lead SITE Summit on January 14th , 2015 at Royal Palm Golf & Country Club, Lahore. The event was inaugurated by Director IAS - Prof. Dr. Nasira Jabeen, Dr. Amjad Saqib Executive Director, -Akhuwat , Dr. Shabana Haider, Secretary-SAARC & Dr. Shahid A Zia. The Summit aimed at providing a forum for the academia and civil society to network and share ideas and provide an environment for fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship. With the best renowned speakers lined up, the summit is believed to be one of the most influential platforms to develop the entrepreneurial culture in Pakistan, bringing together leaders, entrepreneurs & academicians.

Entrepreneurs have a very critical role in determining the fut ure and prosperity of the country. The people of Pakistan have always been entrepreneurial by nature. Statistics show that 99% of economic establishment in Pakistan is from small and medium enterprises set up by individuals or groups of entrepreneurs. The experts shared that the key to developing a successful entrepreneurial culture in Pakistan is the creation of an ecosystem that encourages and nurtures growth of new innovation based business.
