PU HCBF organizes 8th convocation

LAHORE: (Thursday, March 24, 2022): Punjab University Hailey College of Banking & Finance has organized its 8th Convocation at a local hotel. HCBF Principal Prof. Dr. Mubbsher Munawar Khan conferred degrees upon 398 graduates and post graduate students of EMBA Banking & Finance, EMBA Insurance & Risk Management. The sessions of these degree programs included EMBA-B&F;2014-2018, 2015-2019, 2016-2020, EMBA-I&RM;, 2014-2018 2015-2019, 2016-2020. Prof. Dr. Ch. Abdul Rehman, Chairman The Superior Group and President of Pakistan Association of Medical and Dental Institutions (PAMI), Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ahmed, Principal, Hailey College of Commerce and Dean Faculty of Commerce, Mr. Rauf Nawaz, Controller of Examinations and Registrar of Punjab University, Prof. Dr. Muqqadas Rehman, Director IBA Punjab University, faculty members of HCBF and a number of students and their parents attended the event. Addressing on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Mubbsher Munawar Khan welcomed the guests and congratulated the graduating students on their splendid success and lauded Hailey College of Banking & Finance for providing exceptional knowledge and skills to the graduated students in their respective disciplines that will enable them to lead a professionally rewarding life. He said that HCBF always strived to impart requisite education and fostering competencies to make them better and productive citizens of Pakistan. He shared several student and faculty development plans at HCBF and urged students to keep connected with the college. He also motivated them to become part of HCBF Alumni Association. He advised students to distinct right from wrong and always chose the path of Allah with good moral and ethical practices in their careers as responsible citizens. He also shared the scope of entrepreneurial practices in the local context. He informed the students that the college will soon start admissions in Ph.D. and M.Phil programs after getting the requisite permission from the HEC. Prof. Dr. Ch. Abdul Rehman, chief guest of the convocation awarded shields to position holders, Ali Hassan Cheema, Qaiser Jamil, Nouman Bashir, Hafiz Muhammad Shoaib, and Misla Javed. In his speech, Dr. Abdul Rehman, highlighted the importance of startups and self-employment, and advised students to have their own business instead of relying only on job-oriented career. He emphasized the importance of self-determination. He mentioned that self-determination allows people to feel that they have control over their choices and lives. He shared his own life story with students to motivate them. In his address, Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ahmed Bowra expressed his gratitude to the Principal HCBF and management and later congratulated graduating students. He acknowledged the academic and professional capabilities of the HCBF principal and appreciated his meritorious services for faculty of commerce. Dr. Bowra also stressed students to be job creators rather than being job seekers. The students also appreciated the college's efforts for regularly conducting the convocation in a wonderful manner.
