Successful PhD Defense Held at the Institute of Urdu Language and Literature

On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, a successful PhD thesis defense was held at the Institute of Urdu Language and Literature. The scholar, Hafiz Abdul Ghani, presented his dissertation titled “Modern Trends in Urdu Literature and the Role of Humra Khaliq.”
The thesis was supervised by Dr. Arifa Shehzad, while the external examiners included Dr. Waheed ur Rehman Khan (University of Education, Lahore) and Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad Warraich (FC College University).
During the defense, the scholar presented his research through multimedia and responded to questions in a clear and well-argued manner. The examiners and audience appreciated his efforts and expressed satisfaction with his responses. The examiners declared him worthy of being awarded the PhD degree.
Director of the Institute, Dr. Baseera Ambreen, congratulated both the scholar and the supervisor, praised the research work, and thanked the participants. Faculty members and students attended the session in large numbers.
