PU organizes policy dialogue to strengthen academia–digital media linkages

LAHORE: (Saturday, September 5, 2026): Punjab University Department of Digital Media organized a policy dialogue to strengthen linkages between academia and the digital media industry. On this occasion, PU VC Prof Dr. Muhammad Ali, Chairperson Department of Digital Media Prof Dr. Savera Mujib Shami, Dr. Shafiq Kamboh, and representatives from universities and the media industry were present. Addressing the gathering, PU VC Prof Dr. Muhammad Ali said that universities must produce well-trained graduates who are capable of working anywhere in the world. He said that the world is changing so rapidly that it is difficult to predict what it will look like five years from now. He emphasized the need to equip students in every field, including media, with education and skills that meet the requirements of the modern era. He appreciated the organizers for holding a fruitful event and acknowledged their efforts. Dr. Savera highlighted the objectives of the policy dialogue. She said that the department is taking steps to enhance cooperation between educational institutions and the media industry in order to address the changing demands of digital media and provide students with practical training. The speakers emphasized that strong linkages between universities and media organizations can play a vital role in providing students with better training and practical opportunities in line with the evolving requirements of modern media.
