Scholarship Programme

Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), Government of Pakistan, is not only entrusted to look after the affairs related to Sikh and Hindu communities in Pakistan but also running a number of welfare projects including schools, colleges, hospitals etc. In pursuance of wider scope for welfare of the said minorities in Pakistan , ETPB offers excellent opportunity for SAARC students to get scholarship, absolutely free, and study in a superb environment of University of The Punjab , Lahore , Pakistan which enjoys a worldwide reputation for excellence in teaching and research. The university has graciously reserved seven seats for ETPB Scholarship Programme for the year 2009-2010 and welcomes applications from SAARC countries` students/candidates belonging to Sikh and Hindu communities.
SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship includes free fees (as per fee structure of respective programme), free boarding / lodging and one return air ticket.
These scholarships are based on merit and will be awarded to deserving candidates who should be native of SAARC countries including the following:-

ADMISSION INFORMATION
Admission of SAARC students in University of the Punjab , exclusively sponsored by ETPB, is centralized. As such all correspondence should be addressed to Deputy Administrator (General), Shrines Branch, ETPB Lahore, Pakistan. SAARC students seeking admission under ETPB scholarship programme are advised not to apply to the university directly.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The candidate seeking ETPB scholarship must have completed sixteen years education i.e, must hold Bachelor Degree with at least 2 nd Division in the relevant field and maximum age limit for applying in Masters programme is 26 on the closing date of masters programme.
For admission in M. Phil the candidate must have Masters degree in the relevant field and age limit is 28.

GENERAL INFORMATION
SAARC students seeking admission under ETPB scholarship programme should produce a medical certificate to the effect that they are not affected by AIDs/HIV etc, at the time of admission.
The SAARC student who has been granted admission into a particular course shall not be allowed to change his/her course for which he/she was originally admitted. Procedure for admission to most of the taught degree programmes are generally undertaken in the months of August/September each year. After the completion of admission the classes start on 15 th September each year.
Due to additional time required for procedural matters, the foreign students are advised to start the process for applying for Provisional Admission into any programme well in advance. They can start applying from June 2009. However, CUT OFF DATE IS 10 JULY. The Applications will be considered on first-come-first-served basis.
