LAHORE: (Friday, November 17, 2023): Punjab University Directorate of Students Affairs, Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS) and Anti-narcotics Force (ANF) jointly organized an awareness seminar on ‘Role of Youth in Drug Abuse Prevention’ in the auditorium of ISCS. Regional Director Commander Brigadier Sikandar Hayat Chaudhary, Director Student Affairs Dr Muhammad Ali Kalasra, coordinator of ISCS Dr Navid Tahir, Dr Nauman Ali Chaudhary, Dr Ishaq, Dr Maria, Maj Nazir, Ms Sadia Shahzeb, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion. Brigadier Sikandar Hayat Chaudhary presented the strategies for the prevention of drugs by ANF in Pakistan. He motivated the students to take initiative in prevention of drug abuse. Dr Muhammad Ali Kalasra stressed on the need of academia and forces to work collaboratively to curtail the devastating effects of drug addiction in society especially on youth. Dr Navid Tahir said that the objective of the seminar was to educate the students about the harmful effects of drugs not only on youth but on society as a whole. Earlier, Brigadier Sikandar Hayat Chaudhry called on PU VC Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood in his office. In the meeting, commitment was expressed to increase cooperation with each other for the creation of a drug-free society.
