University of Leicester delegation visits PU


A delegation from the University of Leicester, UK, visited the University of the Punjab to explore avenues for academic collaboration and research partnerships.

The delegation included Dr. Abdul Jabbar, Dean of Internationalisation, University of Leicester School of Business; Mr. Anthony Braybrook, International Students Lead, University of Leicester; and Mr. Asad Tahir Jappa, PhD Researcher/GTA, University of Leicester School of Business.

During the visit, the delegation met with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood, and Director External Linkages Prof. Dr. Yaamina Salman to discuss potential areas of cooperation, including joint research projects, faculty and student exchange programs, and capacity-building initiatives.

As part of their visit, the delegation toured the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and the Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS), where they engaged with faculty members and research students. These interactions provided an opportunity to identify shared research interests and discuss mechanisms for fostering long-term academic linkages between the two institutions.

The visit marks a significant step toward strengthening international partnerships, reinforcing the University of the Punjab’s commitment to global academic engagement. Both institutions expressed optimism about developing a structured framework for future collaboration.
