Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics (MMG), University of the Punjab always contribute energetically to all scientific research activities both at international and national levels. MMG department participated with traditional enthusiasm to 38th Annual PAP Conference/ 3rd Joint Conference of the Societies of Pathology in Collaboration with the Royal College of Pathologists and British Association of Pakistani Pathologists which was held from 6th to 8th November 2015 at Pearl Continental Hotel, Lahore. There were also a number of pre-conference workshops which were attended by faculty and students of MMG to participate in the process of continuous learning. MMG faulty members also attended series of meeting for organizing this conference and its workshops. In addition, students of MMG out come with flying colours by winning the largest number of best posters presentations announced yet.

2. Ms. Shabana (Effect of common variants of FTO gene on obesity in Pakistani population) placed 2nd prize for poster by Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP).

3. Ms. Komal Zahra (Protein profiling of common allergic food extracts of Pakistan) got best poster award with Medal by Pakistan Society of Immunology. |
Oral presentation by Ms. Samyyia Abrar, Ms. Javeria Hashmi and Mr. Saleem Ullah Shahid were also very well appreciated at the conference.
