LAHORE: (Wednesday, September 30, 2026): Punjab University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (ICET), organized a special lecture on ‘The Paint Industry: Processes, Products and Practical Applications’. In his address, Director ICET, Prof. Dr. Syed Nadir Hussain, welcomed the distinguished alumnus and introduced Engr. Ahmed Asif Mirza, ICET Batch 1964, to the students. He highlighted Engr. Mirza’s professional career and achievements in the paint and surface coatings industry, and appreciated his continued association with and support for his alma mater. Speaking to students, Engr. Ahmed Asif Mirza shared his extensive industrial experience and provided practical insights into paint manufacturing, raw materials, products, applications, and the role of chemical engineers in the paint industry. He emphasized the need to promote startups and entrepreneurship in the paint industry, particularly through local expertise and innovation. He stressed the importance of social responsibility and giving back to one’s alma mater, encouraging alumni to share their knowledge and experience for the benefit of students and their institutions. On this occasion, faculty members and students were present. The Director also presented Engr. Mirza with a souvenir as a gesture of respect and appreciation.
