NATAK’s Dil A Pakistani at Theatre Competition 2012
LAHORE: (Tuesday, September 25, 2012): NATAK, which is an old asset and the only Performing Arts Society of Punjab University College of Art and Design performed at Lok Rahs Theatre Competition 2012 at NCA, Lahore with a light comedy play “Dil A Pakistani” written by Mr Ahmed Bilal. Using Punjabi as the medium of communication, the play is hilarious comedy with a cutting edge satire that penetrates deep into the hearts of the viewers. In a series of layered comedy sessions, the play rendered the true political scene of Pakistan. The performance revolved around a group of a few sloshed people who imitated the true essence of Pakistani “Awam”. With their ever changing moods and topics, they gabbed about the political and social conditions of the country and their outcomes. The play illustrated some very serious and disturbing problems that the average public of Pakistan faces such as electricity, clean water, food, petrol, gas etc and how their shortage or unavailability affects their daily lives. After a very thought provoking and full of comedy sessions, the performance ends up giving a good hope by the writer to the people of Pakistan and a feeling of being optimistic rather than opting for a pessimistic approach. In the end, the director thanked PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, PUCAD Principal Prof Dr Rahat Naveed Masud for their ever active and continued support to NATAK.
