LAHORE: (Tuesday, November 29, 2011): High Commissioner of Bangladesh Suhrab Hossain visited the Punjab University and called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran in his office here on Tuesday. Qazi Humayun Fareed was also accompanying the High Commissioner. Principal Oriental College Prof Dr Mazhar Moeen, Director External Linkages Maria Maldonado and RO-I Javed Sami was also present on the occasion.

Welcoming the High Commissioner, VC Dr Mujahid Kamran briefed him about the university’s infrastructure, departments, students and ongoing academic and research programmes.

Suhrab Hossain said he felt immense pleasure to visit the oldest seat of higher learning of Pakistan. He appreciated the efforts of varsity administration in providing quality educational and research facilities to its graduates. He also visited the Main Library where Chief Librarian Ch Muhammad Hanif briefed him about various sections of library. Suhrab Hossain appreciated the management of library for preserving rare and manuscripts in a well-deserved manner. Later, a luncheon was hosted in his honour at varsity Executive Club.
