Quality of education is the concern of all organizations across the world. With the increase in science and technological advancement, the roles of educational institutions’ have become changed. Since higher education institutions have to play their pivotal role in disseminating knowledge-based economy and preparing skilled or semi-skilled individuals in different fields, therefore their continuous capacity building and strengthening should be given top priority.
Since its establishment in 2007, QEC has been striving to perform its various roles such as carrying out institutional performance evaluation, teacher and course evaluations, accreditation of new degree programs, review of on-going Ph.D and M.Phil/MS or equivalent programs, analysing the self-assessment reports in various disciplines, and organizing seminars and workshops on quality assurance. As being Director, it is my prime responsibility to expedite all these functions in the way that University’s ranking could be uplifted in the country and the Asian region.
I do hope that under the visionary leadership of Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhter, Vice Chancellor and with the professional commitment of QEC staff, we shall achieve its targets in accordance with the national standards set by Higher Education Commission, Pakistan.
