University of the Punjab is the oldest seat of higher learning and has been contributing to the cause of quality of education in the country. With the gradual increase in students’ enrolment, sustainability in quality education has become an emerging concern. This required an independent department to so that the University might continuously improve teaching and learning through various internal and external quality assurance initiatives in order to meet the international standards. Henceforth, Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) was established in 2006 on the recommendation of Higher Education Commission Pakistan.
The University is committed to respond to changing global needs of quality assurance processes through effective and equitable participation of all who are engaged in higher education without discrimination by allowing the full use of their abilities for the benefit of the University and the society. In order to achieve this goal, QEC has been raising the confidence of the all the departments of the university by demonstrating enhanced academic standards by addressing the prime needs of the students and society at large.
QEC serves my mission to raise the productivity of our graduates through quality education and practical knowledge to contribute in a significant way to the national economy. I am confident that QEC will continuously play its pivotal and dynamic role to bring it at par with the top ranking universities of the region in future. Being the pioneer Director of QEC, I have always concern on the accomplishment of its functions for uplifting the standards of higher education in all of its academic programs. |
