The Professor Emeritus of Institute of Applied Psychology, Prof. Dr. Najma Najam conducted a webinar on “Psychology in Pakistan” on Monday, 2nd August, 2021 at 11:30 am. The webinar was conducted through the platform of Institute of Applied Psychology, University of the Punjab, chaired by the Director of Institute of Applied Psychology, Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique, and moderated by Miss. Hamna Zahid. Our noble speaker accentuated the social and psychological issues currently prevailing in our society. The most needed topics of the time like murder, rape, honor killing were highlighted by her. She underlined that the need of Pakistani Psychology is inevitable in order, for Pakistani Psychologists to recognize their own identity, practice in ways to meet the current demands, develop ideas for research, formulate explanatory frameworks and develop culturally relevant theories on issues faced by the country. It was an informative webinar that helped expand the vision regarding a new paradigm of Psychology in research and practice. The webinar was lived streamed through official Facebook page of IAP.
