Interactive Awareness Session on "the Disease of Addiction and Healthy Coping Alternatives"


Faculty, Students of Institute of Applied Psychology, University of the Punjab and members of Society for preventive initiative against drug addiction (IAP) attended an Interactive Awareness Session on “the Disease of Addiction and Healthy Coping Alternatives” organised by Home Town Community Foundation. The session was highly informative in which speakers discussed about the Risk factors like Genetics, lack of attachment, peer pressure and psychological factors lead to addiction. The eminent speakers of the session were 1) Prof Daniel Fung, President of International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions, 2) Associate Professor Campbell Paul, President of the World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH), 3) Dr Liu Jing. Child psychiatrist, Professor and Chief, Director of Mental Health Center for Children, Peking University Institute of Mental Health and Sixth Hospital, China, 4) Associate Professor Vlatka Borićević Marśanić, Secretary of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Section, World Psychiatry Association, 5) Pr Mario Speranza, President of the International Society of Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology (ISAPP) and 6) Fūsun Çetin Çuhadaroglu, Professor and Chair of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey.
