Potable water helps control diseases: Sarwar LAHORE: (Thursday, March 27, 2025): Former Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that provision of clean water is the fundamental right of every citizen and wherever clean water plants are installed, the number of patients in the area has decreased. He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of a water filtration plant at Punjab University School of Communication Studies here on Thursday. On this occasion, PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, Head School of Communication Studies Prof Dr Abida Ashraf, Chairperson Film and Broadcasting Dr Lubna Zaheer, department heads, faculty members and students were present. The water filtration plant was installed by Sarwar Foundation at the request of the Department of Film and Broadcasting. In his address, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said that 50 percent of patients in hospitals fall ill due to dirty water. He said that instead of spending money on hospitals and medicines, money should be spent on preventive measures. He said that philanthropists should actively participate in the provision of clean water. He said that the money spent on the welfare of the people will be useful in eternal life. He said that he is very happy about the installation of a water filtration plant in PU. He said that eradicating poverty should be among our top priorities. He said that PU is fortunate to have Dr Muhammad Ali as Vice Chancellor. Professor Dr Muhammad Ali said that he is grateful to Sarwar Foundation for installing a water filtration plant in PU. He said that thousands of students, teachers and employees will benefit from the water filtration plant.
