Lahore, August 5, 2026: The 1st Fungal Culture Bank of Pakistan (FCBP), Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, University of the Punjab, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NemaCura Limited, Ireland, to strengthen international cooperation in microbial sciences and sustainable agriculture.
This partnership will focus on microbial biodiversity, culture collection development, plant disease diagnostics, biological crop protection, and environmentally responsible agricultural innovation. It provides a framework for joint research, capacity building, funding proposals, and the exchange of scientific expertise and good laboratory practices between the two institutions. Prof. Dr. Tehmina Anjum, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, said the collaboration would open new avenues for research and researcher development while supporting global efforts toward food security and resilient agriculture. Dr. Waheed Anwar, In-charge, FCBP, described the agreement as an important step in expanding Pakistan's international research linkages and enhancing the quality and reach of microbial and plant-health research. CEO of NemaCura Ltd welcomed the partnership as an opportunity to combine complementary expertise in nature based solutions for crop health. Both institutions reaffirmed their shared commitment to responsible innovation, knowledge exchange, and sustainable agricultural development.
