LAHORE, September 3-5, 2026: The Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (ICET), University of the Punjab (PU), Lahore, conducted Orientation Program for B.Sc. (Engg.) Chemical Engineering Students for Fall 2026 was held on September 3-5, 2026 (10:00 AM-02:00PM) at ICET as per guidelines of Admission Office, University of the Punjab

Prof. Dr Syed Nadir Hussain (Director ICET) warmly welcomed the fresh Engineering students and briefed them about the impactful history of ICET which is one of the oldest (since 1917) and prestigious institute in the field of Chemical Engineering education in Pakistan. He mentioned that ICET Alumni are working in executive positions in reputed industries including Fertilizer, Oil and Gas, FMCGs, Design, and Chemical process at national and international levels. He mentioned that the purpose of orientation program is to ensure that everyone begins their academic journey with a clear understanding of the University's academic environment, institutional values, rules and regulations, available facilities and support systems, and the responsibilities associated with being a member of the University community. He further said that ICET would facilitate a smooth transition from students' previous educational settings into university-level learning and help them to develop confidence, awareness and sense of belonging necessary for successful academic and personal development. He mentioned that ICET is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including smart classrooms, computer labs and practical labs. Moreover, new facilities have been recently added at ICET such as “Paint manufacturing plant (medium scale) and research Lab”, “Solar system (30 KW)”, “Ultra-Filtration Plant (2000L/hr.) and water testing Lab”, and “Process Simulation Lab”.

Prof. Dr. Syed Nadir Hussain (Director ICET) said that we are deeply grateful to our respected alumnus, Engr. Aamer Fayyaz, Director Manufacturing at FFC, for sharing his valuable insights, experiences, and perspectives with our new batch of engineering students (2026-2030) and his words of wisdom and guidance will undoubtedly inspire and motivate our young engineers as they embark on their academic journey.
