LAHORE: Mr. Malik Fiaz Hussain Ferdosi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Horticulture, University of the Punjab (PU), has been awarded a travel grant by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, to present his research at the XVII International Agriculture Symposium (AGROSYM 2026) in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The symposium is scheduled for October 6–9, 2026. Mr. Ferdosi will deliver an oral presentation entitled “Floral Essential Oil of Dombeya spectabilis: GC-MS Chemical Profiling and In Vitro Antibacterial Evaluation. His research examines the chemical composition of floral essential oil from Dombeya spectabilis and evaluates its antibacterial activity under laboratory conditions. The presentation will provide an opportunity to share these findings with an international audience and engage in scientific discussions with fellow researchers. Mr. Ferdosi has also previously presented his research at other international conferences. The HEC grant provides partial financial support toward travel and conference registration, further showcasing research from PU’s Department of Horticulture on an international platform.
