January 15, 2026---Prof. Tayyiba Wasim, Principal of Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC), and Dr. Yawar Sajjad, CEO of Jinnah Burn and Reconstructive Surgery Centre (JBRSC), Lahore, visited the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab, for a detailed discussion on stem cell research, genetic diseases, and biopharmaceuticals.

During the visit, Director CEMB Prof. Moazur Rahman briefed the delegates on the foundation of CEMB and its longstanding history of collaboration with AIMC and JBRSC. Dr. Azra Mehmood provided an overview of the stem cell research being conducted at CEMB, highlighting key scientific advances and ongoing projects. Dr. Asma Ali Khan presented an overview of CEMB’s major achievements in the field of human genetics.

The visit concluded with a tour of the stem cell and biopharmaceutical laboratories, where the delegates observed ongoing research activities and discussed potential avenues for future collaboration.
