Lahore, Pakistan - Prof Dr So Yamane, a distinguished alumnus of Oriental College, University of the Punjab, Lahore, visited the office of the Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab, on March 3rd 2026. Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning, Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran, was also present at the meeting.
During the visit, Prof Dr So Yamane highlighted that Osaka University, Japan, has been offering courses for the last 103 years. Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran added that the University of the Punjab has signed an MoU with Osaka University, Japan, and many students have benefited from Urdu language courses at the Institute of Urdu, Punjab University Oriental College, Lahore.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali warmly welcomed Prof Dr So Yamane and assured that the University of the Punjab will continue to facilitate academic and cultural exchange with Osaka University. He presented souvenirs to Prof Dr So Yamane as a token of appreciation.
