PU: students to receive Rs. 11.41 billion subsidy in the upcoming FY

LAHORE: (Monday, June 08, 2026): Punjab University is conducting meeting to prepare budget for the fiscal year 2026–27. PU students will receive a subsidy of Rs. 11.41 billion during the upcoming fiscal year. Out of the total subsidy, PU will provide an average subsidy of Rs. 7.88 billion from its own resources, while Rs. 3.53 billion will be provided through government grants. PU will spend an average of Rs. 175,000 extra per student from its own resources. In addition, under government grants, an average of Rs. 78,547 per student will be spent. In this regard, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali stated that PU has the lowest fee structure among public sector universities. He said that PU is an institution that provides high-quality education at the lowest cost.
