LAHORE: (Thursday, June 11, 2026): A meeting Punjab University Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization’s Steering Committee was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali here on Thursday. Prof. Dr. Aqil Inam and Deputy Director Prof. Dr. Furqan K. Hashmi. The Director ORIC, Engr. Prof. Dr. Aqil Inam briefly shared the ongoing research & commercialization activities in PU. He said 05 international research projects, 37 national research projects and 471 PU research projects are being executed in various departments of the University. He also shared that in this financial year 05 new national patents are granted to PU. He appraises the house about the newly approved RIC Policy 2026 and discussed salient features of the policy. He said that the policy focuses on incentivizing of the PU faculty as well as the university. The arrangements for 11th Invention to Innovation Summit 2026 in collaboration with PHEC, PINTEC 26 were also discussed a view to broaden the scope and giving opportunity to the faculty students to participate and display their projects/technologies/products. Pakistan-China scientific collaborates mega technology expo arrangements were also discussed. The Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali appreciated the working of ORIC and encourages to further contribute to the uplift of the ranking of PU.
