Lahore, October 26, 2026: Punjab University Library has started its annual orientation programme for newly admitted students of the 1st and 5th semesters of BS programs to familiarize them with the Library’s extensive collections, academic resources, and user services.

The program is conducted every year to introduce students to the Library’s rich intellectual resources and help them make effective use of its facilities in support of their academic studies and research. Spanning approximately one and a half months, the program will cover more than 78 departments of Punjab University, representing a wide range of academic disciplines.

Under this initiative, four to six classes of students from different academic disciplines visit the Library daily under the supervision of their respective teachers. The orientation sessions introduce students to the Library’s collections, information resources, and services, enabling them to explore the facilities available to support their learning and research.

On the opening day, October 26, 2026, students from the Departments of Special Education, Zoology, Economics, and Information Management visited the Library.

Through this annual initiative, Punjab University Library reaffirms its commitment to promoting information literacy, encouraging independent learning, and facilitating students’ access to academic resources throughout their university journey.

A new academic journey brings new opportunities to explore, learn, and discover! Conducted every year, this extensive program will continue for approximately one and a half months, reaching students from more than 78 departments across the University.

Every day, 4–6 classes of students, accompanied by their teachers, visit the Library to explore its resources and learn how to make the most of its facilities for their academic and research needs.
