January 22, 2013 an event held at Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology, University of the Punjab by the title“HIMMAT TERI PEHCHAN Season-III”to appreciate the athletes for their outstanding performances at Interuniversity, Interdepartmental, Intercollegiate and Interclass level. As they won straight forward 9 gold medals by outclassing other athletes. Chief Guestwas Director Sports Prof. Dr. Syed MansoorSarwaralong with Director Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology Prof. Dr. Aamir Ijaz. Other worthies present were Principal College of Engineering & Emerging Technology Prof. Dr. Rafiq Ahmad, Director Institute for Coal Technology Prof. Dr. ShahidMunir, Additional Director Sports Ma’am Shamsa Hashmi and all the Deputy Directors Sports. The innovation that induced enthusiasm in the audience was the moment when the Pakistani flags were pinned before the national anthem.

Director Sports University of the Punjab praised and appreciated the efforts of the athletes and the coordinators for organizing such a wonderful event. He emphasized on the selection of new sports inducteeson merit. Furthermore he appreciated the efforts of Faculty of Engineering Sports Inchargefor providing such a quality stuff to uplift the name of the university.

Director ICET Prof. Dr. Aamir Ijaz mentioned in his address mentioned the importance of sports not only as a co-curricular activity but also in the uplift of the ranking of the university at the international level. He also announced special grants for sportsmen.

Later the athletes were presented trophies and shields by the chief guest Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar & Prof. Dr. Aamir Ijaz.
The ceremony ended with a national song and a promise that everyone present serve the nation utilizing all hisabilities.
